Here we go again.  Is that the name of a song?  It’s going to be a song the Rays will always sing with Maddon as their manager.  New year.  Same crap.  Let’s wait until the home team scores 4 and goes up by 3 in the bottom of the 8th until we bring in a reliever.  Sing it, Dolly.  Sing it, Rays.

You don’t need a scouting report to know that Huff loves the inside and low stuff- ask any Rays fan. How many home runs does it take before the Rays figure out how to pitch to this guy? Why not just walk him every time he comes up. 7 homers in 17 games last year. That’s a minimum of 28 bases in 17 games, plus all the other hits he got. I would settle for 4 walks a game- a lot less damage.

AND…

The Rays need an experienced catcher. Mixing a 2nd year, young catcher with a young pitching staff is a recipe for disaster as we saw last year. Why is Navarro calling the pitches? It will be interesting to see how many times Troy Percival shakes off Navarro. Maybe Troy can teach Dionner how to call a game.

Déjà vu all over again.

One good sign: The Rays TV announcers FINALLY mentioned pitch calling as an area the Rays need to pay attention to.
