I’m a little skeptical about hearing first or second round picks being tossed around, but I like the addition. High Impact Sack-Master young enough to be an anchor on a young fierce D-Line. It really depends who we take and could’ve taken with the first or second pick, before I’m willing to pull the trigger on trading a pick. Chris Simms could fit with a 3rd rounder being thrown out.

The interesting thing so far is no one mentioning his multiple DUI arrests. Wonder why? (Shrug)

I would love to see us sign Allen, we could be dominant like we were when we had sapp and the other surrounding cast up front, not allowing teams to score no more than 9 or 10 points a game. We will find a reciever some how or hopefully stovall, Braynt and parris warren will step up. Yes we need to get allen he is a game breaker that would take our defense to the next level and he would almost all the time require a double team which would open up the middle. Also, we will be much more balanced this year with our offensive line, so lets hope our recievers stay healthy??????

jvnootz, no one is saying anything about his propensity for arrests (three so far) since this is now Raiders east.  This team is not anything like Dungy’s anymore.  While Dungy is above board, Gruden and Allen will overlook anything if it means more wins.  Why were the Bucs the only team to give David Boston another chance?  Of course, that worked out so well.

My expectation if the price is right (one first round pick, not multiple like the Chiefs want) then the Bucs will trade.  Much more and there is no chance.  No player is worth mortgaging your future.

And you call yourself a fan, Gru/Allen will overlook anything if it means more wins. What the hell are you talking about, we have made vast improvements and have had 2 solid draft years and we are in a great salary cap situation unlike when Dungy/Mckay was there.......... We also had to give up 2 first and 2 second picks and 8 million to get him. Yea, gruden won a super bowl with Dungys team sure, but thats why they let Dungy go, because he had 2 years to win a super bowl with that same team and could not get it done. I am just glad we made that decsion to get him because our window of oppotunity was coming to a end. Now we are super bowl champs and you have nothing positive to say. Great fan you are Acura T. We are young and are moving in the right direction to be in the super bowl again very soon.

Whatever.  I just commented on the legal problems he has, and you go into a tizzy.  I grew up with this team when I moved to town the summer of 1976 at age 8.  I just said few players are worth mutliple picks, and I doubt the team would take such a chance on a person with these problems.  You may want to think a little before blasting.

I apoligize Acura T, It just seems that everyone wants to say the negitives about Gru/Allen and they are making it happen in the last couple of years. There staff has done a great job with what they have had and in free agency and the draft everyone was blasting gru/allen.
With that said I am sorry for coming off like a jerk, i believe gru/allen are really doing good things in Tampa. Are team as a whole is really coming together.

I in general agree with you.  I think Gruden and Allen are doing a pretty good job.  The two knocks Gruden gets publically are:

(1) He does not take the time to develop offensive players.  I think this is true, as the team has had a really tough time developing any of the offensive draft picks they have picked up since he joined the team.  Most of the performers on offense these days are cast offs from elsewhere or traded for (Galloway, Dunn, Garcia, Griese, Hillard, etc.) Except for one good year from Clayton, and the development of the offensive line this past year (which I will give him credit for that since that was an awful mess two years ago), the other offensive draft picks have done little.  Gradkowski will be off the team by the opening of camp.  I don’t have much hope for the new QB drafted this year, but maybe Gruden will prove me wrong.

(2) Gruden does not listen to anyone around him.  He even sort of admitted this an interview this past year, and admitted he is trying to change. I hope so, as no one can do it all as coach in the NFL anymore. Joe Gibbs is a great leader as he knows how to rely on those around him.  I hope Gruden learns the same.

Still, Gruden did win a Super Bowl with Dungy’s defense and a bunch of cast offs on offense.  He gets my vote in my book.  This past year was a big surprise.  Next year will be tougher but I hope they can return to the playoffs.  We will have to wait and see if that comes to pass.
