Alright guys, I have been dyin for USF Football for about the past four months, but I got a few basketball questions. To begin with, apart from Gransberry of course, what are y’all thinking for next years team? Bozeman and Verdejo have experience ( I wasn’t to impressed with Howard...). I have heard something about the kid from FSU, but I dont know anything about that. I like what I have heard about the Chin fellow. I am forgetting anything? I think having Heath is going to be tremendous, but losing Mathis and Buckley is pretty big. What do y’all think?

I think after next week we can actually get a better picture of how much the improvement should be in the basketball program.  With three scholarships left there is hope of filling it with some quality talent.  I understand from other sites we are waiting on PG Vernon Carr to decide where he will go.  Then there is some size players we are looking at.  We definitely need someone to backup Gransberry.

Seems that Mr. Carr decided that Towson was a better fit for him, rather than USF.  Quite sad to see USf lose a player to CAA team, but that is how it goes.  Pat Kennedy is a shark on the recruiting trail, even at a bottom tier school like TSU.

USFFAN, I don’t think Towson necessarily outrecruited USF for Carr, it was simply they had been recruiting him for a much longer time. Because of Heath taking over at USF when he did, it’s not easy to convince a kid that’s been bombarded for several weeks, months from other schools to all of sudden forget about them and jump on board to a school that just started recruiting you. A better point is what Pensacola Junior College coach Paul Swanson told me -
http://www.tboblogs.com/index.php/sports/related/C127/ - about making sure you don’t sign players that can’t play. Also, the Bulls are nearing completing their staff - http://www.tbo.com/sports/bulls/MGB40HH4K1F.html - with the addition of former UK assistant Reggie Hanson and waiting to hear if Charlotte’s Chris Cheeks will accept an offer to join the staff.
