WESLEY CHAPEL - An alligator that got itself caught between two houses in the Meadow Pointe community Thursday evening had been trapped, killed and ready to be made into “alligator nuggets” by this morning, a local trapper said.

Mickey Fagan of M and D Gator Products of Dade City said he caught the gator - which tried to climb the side of a house in the Morningside neighborhood at about 7:30 p.m.

You loved seeing his pictures. How do you feel about the climbing gator now that he’s meat? Will you be first in line for some gator barbecue? Or do you wish the trappers had taken this critter back to the swamp? Share your thoughts here.

I vote for the swamp.. Hate to see anything get killed needlessly. (I say that as I’m getting ready to leave for a nice juicy steak.)

What a hypocrite IYAM.

again, human’s greed and inhumanity for an innocent animal prevails. the alligator did nothing. it should never have been killed.. the alligator should have been returned to the water. but, the trapper does not care about saving an animal’s life. he is only interested in making a profit. is it so sad that many innocent animals die horrible deaths at slaughter houses because of human’s misdirected need for meat. the human body does not need meat, chicken or fish to survive. but, look at how many dogs and cats are put down every day because of human’s stupidity. so, i am not surprised about the alligator hunter.

Florida Native here!!!! I hate that they killed that Gator. If there haven’t been any reports of the gator attacking animals or people they shouldn’t have killed it.  How I understood the story was that there were two ponds, maybe the one pond he was in became low by way of water and he was just moving to the other pond...thats what they do when food or water gets low.  With our water levels being so low that makes more since.  That is a shame....and they should have never called a guy who makes money off of killing it so he can sell the meat and skin.  Some trappers will relocate the gators if they are not a threat and are just trying to find their way to a new home in terms of a pond or lake. :( That just makes me so mad!
