It’s obvious I can’t get anything past your sharp eye.....lol

Wow Steve, that was so clever!

For someone who likes to toot his own horn in regards to his many accomplishments, i.e. experience on the internet, working with teenagers (Is that where you get your material from?), your many years of being on this earth, and oh yes, it appears that you’ve studied under Dr. Spock as well! Since you presume to know the why’s and where of the inner thoughts and actions of other people.

And yet it appears that you’re only lesson in life, after ALL of your experience, is learning how to be an arrogant and pompous ass.

The only thing that you have proven to me is just how little and small you can be. Again, you work with young people?? Now THERE’S a scarey thought!

Please continue on in patting yourself on the back. You are your most favorite fan!!!

Nightbiker,

Don’t stand too close to Steve a.k.a Einstein. Some of that muck might rub off!

I don’t know, I’m a pretty big fan of Steve as well. It just seems that he is a realist who is not afraid to tell it like it is at least the way he sees it. Now I don’t always agree with all his views(I do with most but not all) but he seems to look at all sides of an issue and make it clear as to what is fact and what is his opinion. I would have no problem with him or someone like him influencing my children and wish there were more people out there like him.

He obviously doesn’t treat you the way he treats me! And that is, in belittling and patronizing retorts. I have no problem with people stating it like it is, but I DO have a problem with his obnoxious responses!

If you were on the receiving end of his retorts, you’d feel the same.

It’s a matter of respect for a point of view that is not your own. Which he lacks greatly. His responses many times are immature, childish, antagonistic, petty etc.

If you think that’s great and something to look up to, fine. I don’t! You let YOUR kids be taught and mentored by him. Mine would stay away!

I actually have been on the receiving end of some of his retorts and I enjoy some antagonistic banter it stimulates the mind and ignites a little passion in your soul especially about things you feel strongly about. You just have to have a thick skin and not let things get to you. If it really bothers you that much maybe he is hitting on some truth you might not want to admit to yourself. I have been reading almost all of these forum topics over the last few weeks and while I respect your stance on what you believe you don’t seem as willing to try to see others points of view and believe your own to be the only truth and when people disagree it upsets you. Try to lighten up a little bit you might get a little more enjoyment out of life. Just my opinion though and you know what they say about opinions.

I agree completely with your LAST sentence! And if anything feel that it’s been Steve that’s not been able to gracefully accept another point of view. You sound just a tad biased towards him. Are you his brother? Father? Lover?

Anyway, as I said before, I love a good debate and get quite passionate about something I feel strongly about. Passion during a debate is a completely different matter from sarcasm and condescension! If I’ve EVER been guilty of the last two, then I apologize to anyone that I may have offended! Because it is NEVER intentional. I believe that with Steve it is however!

Sorry but, for me anyway, that isn’t acceptable. I like being treated with respect, as do most other people. You don’t always have to agree with me, but at the VERY least have respect for my right to an opinion. And I don’t think developing a thicker skin is the answer. And instead, people need to develop manners, and not make excuses for people who don’t know any better!

At any rate, it’s obvious you and I don’t agree. But, I’ve very much enjoyed debate you on the intricacy’s of HOW to debate like human beings!

Hmm.  Well, I certainly don’t feel like I’ve been slighted by him -in fact, very few on this board have had any issue with me (or vice/versa).  I treat others as I’m treated -or when I’m feeling a bit more civil, I even treat others as I wish to be treated regardless of how they treat me (though I’ll admit the last is pretty rare.  I’m definately old enough, and mature enough, to know (and acknowledge) I’m opinionated as hell, always in the right -even if I’m on both sides of the argument (grin) and that many don’t see things my way -which I figure is mostly because they haven’t figured it out for themselves yet- but in all seriousness, Steve hasn’t given me any undeserved grief so I have no issue with him anymore than I do you or most others on here.  I’d happily knock back suds or any other beverage (my usual of late is water, actually -though my tastes run along Beer -Lagers especially- rums of various regions, wines to some extent -I could never keep scotch down, though -mores’ the pity since it is considdered one of the finer drinks- but I also enjoy Coke, sprite, most things with carbonation and a number without.  I even enjoy ‘em with a bit of Vodka -and am known to carry a hip flask from time to time… smile

“Steve hasn’t given me any undeserved grief.... end quote.

I’m happy for you two, that he hasn’t given you any undeserved grief.  You are a part of his ‘good’ list!  I on the other hand, appear to be on his s---t list!

So until your ‘ox has been gored’ by him, you’ll think he’s been just wonderful.  Which is logical.

It’s all good with me.  It’s the way of human nature to react exactly the way you and Nick23 have.  And I don’t have a problem with it, or with either of you.

You say you have never intentionally offended anybody here yet you ask me if I am Steve’s lover? I may be biased towards his points of view because i agree with him but if you want to be treated with respect you need to show a little respect by not making comments like that. I may have struck a nerve with some of the comments I made but I don’t believe I was disrespectful in them. It seems you are guilty of the same things you are so upset at Steve for. Good thing I have a thick skin and am comfortable in my sexuality or I may have actually been offended by a comment meant to do just that.

Since the only point of reference we have for inflection in the written word is capitlization it sure didn’t come across as one but if that’s what you say then I believe you and really I wasn’t offended it just seemed to me that was your intent. On that same note though I guess the things Steve said to you must have been jokes too so why get upset?

How is it that you’re doing all the speaking for Steve?

I appreciate you trying to correct the situation, and I also admire in fact your loyalty to Steve, but we’re getting nowhere with this.

I’m sure others are sick and tired of it too!  I know I am!!!
So, how about you having a great weekend, and I’ll see you on another topic?  Because I’m done.

Do I hear clapping?

Funny I thought I was speaking for myself and Steve was part of the subject. I wasn’t trying to correct anything because we all know you can’t correct someone who is always right. Anyway you have a great weekend as will I and don’t take me too serious because I also like to get people fired up once in a while.

Well said and I like your taste in beverages, mine are quite similar especially the Lagers specifically of the Anheuser Busch variety. I saw Steve’s other post about going to Skippers Smokehouse and knocking a few back. I’ve lived here for over 15 years not far from there and have never been but heard it’s nice. I am going to see if the wife is interested and maybe we can make it a TBO forum get together.

That would be GREAT!  I’ll nab my schedule later today and post the days I’m off -its a strange schedule, but will plane out a bit after July (since I switched departments and now work in case-management, I’m ‘low man on the pole’ and I work when others just don’t want to.  But since I’m a night-shifter (figures, since my handle pretty much says it all about me -grin.  I used to ride a LOT at night mainly because I was awake at night, its cooler, the bars were open, etc etc) and they have had a mass-exodus of nighttimers, the point being that I’ll soon have my pick of the night-shifts.

My Kegerator used to see a lot of AB products -I usually bought the ponys, and a pony would last about a month smile -I want a Killians or maybe Amberbock pony sometime in the near future.  Amberbock is easy enough -standard tap.  But even though Killians is actually produced and ‘bottled’ by Coors, I’m told it uses a European tap -so I’ll have to get one if thats the case.  No biggie, just ‘one more thing’ you know.

One of my new favorite brews is called ‘Battlefield Black’ by Red Oak Brewery in North Carolina -my brother lives there, and he brought down a couple of minikegs (bout half the saize of a pony) -between the three brothers, we knocked off both minis in a day.  That was some smoooooooth stuff!  I really enjoyed it, and now am in a blue funk because I cannot get it -unless I go up there.  They don’t bottle, and only sell within their region :(
I’m seriuosly considdering making a visit to my youngest brother, and bringing back a couple of minis....  I could fit ‘em on the bike.... hehehehe.
Well, y’all take it easy.  I hope we can get this ‘get together’ together, I think it would be fun.

With the notable exception of the anti-gunner who has left us it seems, for a while.  Unless hes’ lurking elsewhere?  Cheering on AQ or some such?
I think by and large, most or all of us see pretty much eye-to-eye on most key issues.  I think a gathering in a friendly setting would be an enjoyable, rewarding experience!

Sounds great! It is July 22nd Steve was referring to and the entertainment seems quite interesting as well. I visited Candye Kane’s web site last night and she seems quite the entertainer. If you enjoy a good red beer I am partial to Dos Equis Amber, great stuff. A little jealous of the kegerator though, mentioned getting one a while back to the wife and was told I already drink too much beer. We’ll see. I’m sure we’ll here from good ol Steve soon on this. With all the differing opinions that may be in the room that night I was going to tell Steve we may need a security guard for pat-down duty that night.  grin Hope we can all get this together.

QUICK SIDE NOTE....NICK, MLUV did not infer you might be my lover.

She inferred you might be my INCESTEOUS LOVER.....(brothe, father, lover)

Now we’re cooking with gas.

Can’t help but thnk of Roman Polanski’s CHINATOWN

I promise not to buss Micheala’s cheeks anymore because when she squeals, the teacher always looks RIGHT AT ME like I did something and there I am off the principal’s office again.

As mentioned earlier, I’;l create a more specific thread in Entertainment Forum.

CANDYE KANE in concert has been described by some as a Gospel and Blues Revival held in the parking lot of an X-rated bookstore.

Which is kinda cute on accounta Skippers is just a couple miles north of The Todd.

You can hear some Candye music clips here http://www.myspace.com/candyekaneband

Skippers has an outdoor music stage with about half the seating covered.  Capacity is about 400 and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the joint close to full for Candye.

MLUV pronounces: I’m sure others are sick and tired of it too!  I know I am!!!

SH: Well I guess that settles that.

Back into line, boys and girls.  No more pudding if you don’t eat your meat.

I’ll think hes’ been just wonderful??!?
Uhm, I haven’t done or written anything to deserve the tone, and really, I’m not in the mood to draw a sword.
Either settle your differences, or ignore each other, or agree to disagree or whatever -but don’t draw me into such petty little arguments.  I’m far more than capable of jumping into that kind of crap if I want to.
Its’ cool, right?

Yet another who claims that they have ‘thick skin’ ?  But when they PERCEIVE something that they don’t like, then they bow up just like anyone else would!

Maybe the lesson here for EVERYONE is the word PERCEIVE.  Whether or not the writer of a blog in question has the intention of offending, or NOT, does not matter if the reader takes offense anyway!!  Do we get it!!

Nightrider, I was using some of that sarcasm in the blog that you quote from me, and which I’ve complained about in others, and thought YOU had no problem with!  Apparently, others can get away with this, and also have people who will defend them, but not ME?  What’s wrong with that picture?

For people who claim to be so laid back, you sure are defensive!  At least I state from the beginning that I like and expect at least a basic civility in a debate and politness.

So frankly, I’m not getting at ALL where you are coming from!  I give up!

Nick23, we’ve ‘spoken’ and we’re cool.
