Once again the braintrust at the helm of Rays baseball has made a lopsided trade which only benefits the other team. Trading Aki for an unproven relief pitcher does not fix the problem the Rays have. Unless Jesse Chavez is the second coming of Mariano Rivera we got nothing for a better than average infielder who was a proven “team” player. We need catching, Mr. Friedman, are you reading this blog. Unless and until we obtain a quality catcher along the mold of Joe Maurer of the Twins we cannot compete against this stacked Eastern conference. Please hire me to scout the country for this catcher, I’ll do it sans salary, just pay for my travel expense, I’m retired and have plenty of time to devote to this.
