We’re having major problems with the spammers on this forum. It appears to be from the same person or persons time and time again.

Why has TBO not corrected this problem?? And is there not something that can be done to legally stop and penalize the continued harassment by these spammers?

Come on, what’s the deal?

At the bottom of the page listing the threads, there is a post marker legend.  I understand what most of them mean except for two - closed topic and sticky topic. I thought I understood the closed topic, but then I found at least one closed topic can still be opened.  Can you clear up my confusion, please?

What’s up with this new “MOM’S” section? Does TBO.com REALLY need yet another sub-forum? Especially since the Mods are doing a fine job ignoring the ones already in use. wink

More SPAM fodder!

Instead of using 700 billion to help Wall street why not invest that amount in the infrastructure of our country. It will produce blue collar jobs. The people most in need. It might also “trickle up” to the wealthy who need it so much just as wealth trickled down. By The way Fishman from WAMU is grossly underpaid. !8 million for less then three weeks work. How about taking that money and sharing it with those who will be out of a job.

I am disgusted with the amount of spam allowed on our forums! Now they are getting sneaky with new user names adding some on topic posts with a link that goes right to a spam/phishing site.

If TBO forum admins do in fact read this, I would like to volunteer to help clean up the spam. I would be happy to log in and start deleting the spam threads and topics that have littered our forum home. If Admin. does not have the time to monitor and moderate the forums, I am sure there are quite a few people here that would be happy to have limited authority and ability to delete spam posts. I believe in free speech and allowing people to debate, banter and argue back and forth, but the spam needs to be cleaned up.

Agreed, daisy…

I have been communicating on & off with several Admins over the months, and it only appears that one really checks the “Report Post” account. The rest (what few there are) seem content to post the occasional lukewarm thread starter. There are several people here that would be more than happy to take over the Moderation of the Board… gratis!

Meanwhile, bridgeghost, give it a rest: the Admins are not the spammers. Keep talking like that & we’ll put you in the Tinfoil Hat Club with some well known board paranoids.

The title is the name you give it, which could be the same as the link if you want. In the link I just posted I chose “Example Screenshot” to be the title for my link to a picture.
