The Bucs won their first preseason game of 2007, Matt Bryant’s field goal lifting them past New England on the last play, 13-10.

It’s nice to start with a win - but remember, the 2006 Bucs won their first preseason game, too. What really matters is how those who figure to play the most prominent roles this season performed against Patriots.

That said, what stood out most to you on Friday night? Other than the heat, of course.

Gaines Adams looked better than what we have been hearing about from training camp and that is promising. Didn’t really see enough of Garcia to say but McCown looked pretty good, he just didn’t strike me as being much of a physical specimen. I like his ability but I hope his body can stand up if we need him to play. I’ve heard so much about David Boston this year and I wish he would have been more involved and I was disappointed that Sabby was out but all in all they looked better than I expected and I can’t wait to see more.

The Best News about this preseason is that the Bucs don’t have to travel outside Florida. The longest Road Trip is to Miami. Other than that you can only draw so many conclusions from watching these scrimmages.

Its pre-season, not to mention the first game of pre-season, however, I wasn’t happy with Garcia’s passes. I can accept and agree with his saying it’s ust the timing is off. I saw the line open some holes but the problem was the second help. Linebackers and corners did a good job of coming up and meeting the Bucs running backs at the end of the holes. I loved our receiving tho. Didn’t see too many dropped passes and I liked Gruden’s F.U. to the critics by calling for a pass to Caddy right out the gates! Not to mention Gaines big plays on third down. Glaring issues I want to see corrected?

1. Garcia and the reciever’s timing.
2. The running game.
3. We need to create turnovers.
4. (MOST IMPORTANTLY) We need to put up scores past the 20’s, on a consisten basis.  I refuse to pay for tickets this year to watch us kick 3 or 4 field goals. And manage one touchdown . 17 points is never fun. I want to see 28-35 or 42 point games!

We need less 3 and outs and Buchanan needs to step up if he’s going to be a starter for the Bucs. Say too many passes he gave the WR 5-6 yards and Brady took advantage of him. Not to mention Brady didn’t even have his number 1 and 2 receivers on the field. Secondary needs to tighten up.
