og, how many people do you think Law Enforcement arrest on GOOD CASES that the State Attorney still refuses to prosecute?  LE has to establish probable cause to make an arrest.  A child having the key, does NOT establish probable cause.  Believe me, they enjoy taking the bad guy to jail, that’s why they’re in the profession they’re in.  Maybe people should start taking responsibility to secure their property.  I’m not saying that if you don’t and it’s stolen then you deserved for it to be stolen, I’m saying that in the world we live in, if you don’t it will be stolen.  The patrol officer’s you see have limited investigative experience.  Their job is take the initial report and turn it over to their investigation division.  How much time, money, and recources do you think there is to investigate a stolen bicycle?  Just think how much that would cost the tax payers.  You shouldn’t speculate or make assumptions.  Those deputies could of had training that day or just got off their shift and met up to eat before they went home.  My point is you don’t know!  You should have more faith in your local Law Enforcement, believe me they do what they can working under strict guidelines.  Believe it or not they care about their community or they wouldn’t do what they do.  Blame the legislature and your local politicians.  They criminals have all the rights not the victims!

but to have a key to a golf cart right there that was stolen and do nothing, WTF????  and it occurs weekly with them sitting there. i have been in both establishments while they are sitting there forever and then see the same ones on the road.

There is actually evidence needed to arrest and convict someone of committing a crime. If I cannot prove someone committed the crime why would I take the chance of arresting an innocent person. Should I take that chance to make you happy, to appease you. I am not willing to ruin someones life and lose my job just to make an arrest so that a complainant feels all mushy inside.

Deputies and Police Officers are trained professionals. They actually attend an academy to perform their duties. So please don’t watch a 1 hour episode of Law and Order or CSI and make believe you are a crime fighter.

i actually do make sure it is the same cars. when i can go to dinner at one of the establishments and have a few drinks for a few hours and then leave and the same vehicles are parked in the exact same spot and configuration of trucks and cars, they are the same people.  and yes, if it is an emergency like you said, they should forgo the rest of their meals.  and if there is a ride along program, you know they wont be as lackadaisical as they normally are.

If you are certain, then file a complaint with the Sheriff.  She does not want her deputies screwing off on the clock.  All of their movements are tracked by computer and radio calls.  She holds them to high standards and does not stand for hints of impropriety.

You should go back and actually read gators and signal zero’s posts.  Are your witnesses willing to actually go to court and testify.  Many times people on an incident report have a change of heart when it comes to appearing in court.

I’m just speculating without real evidence just as you have done, it goes both ways you know.
