Authorities have unsealed a Tampa-based federal grand jury’s indictment accusing Mohamed of trying to help terrorists by aiding, teaching and demonstrating the use of an explosive device.

The indictment also charges Mohamed and another USF student, Youssef Megahed, with transporting explosives. Both men are Egyptian citizens - Megahed a permanent, legal U.S. resident and Mohamed visiting on a student visa. A lawyer said Mohamed was arrested in Egypt before coming to the United States.

The vaguely worded and sparse indictment says Mohamed distributed information “by any means” about the manufacture and use of an explosive device.

For those that say we’re fighting them in Iraq, so we don’t have to fight them here, this proves the fallacy of that theory. The folks that are going to do damage to us in the US are not running around in Iraq wearing dresses and planting IED’s. The real enemy is scattered around the world and are training to move around inconspicuously without drawing attention to themselves.

A Family In Despair?  The ACCUSATIONS that he and a fellow student had a pipe bomb in the trunk of their Toyota Camry as they drove near a Naval weapons station?  Was this article written by Bin Laden himself?  Since when do we feel badly for the terrorists families and not the families of the intended victims?  To see this as the front page headline makes me ill.  How did this get past the editor? I lost family in the 9-11 attacks and i am supposed to feel sorry for the terrorists and their families now, I am absolutely disgusted by the placement of the article, the subject matter, and the spin put on it by the writer(s) sick

I can not believe that the front page of our Tampa Tribune’ headline actually reads:  “A FAMILY IN DESPAIR” - but is it one of our local, state, state close by, anyone in America or perhaps one of our American Families whose loved one has recently been injured or more than likely killed over in Iraq trying to defend OUR HOMELAND!?  NO - The Tribune article goes on to say “The Father of a USF Student Held on EXPLOSIVES CHARGES REVEALS THE ANGUISH THE MEN ARE FACING” - and then I did not have to look far to realize that “WE” are to feel sorry for these people?!  ARE YOU KIDDING ME - (pinch myself- am I still in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA)?  Can this actually be the front page of THE TAMPA TRIBUNE?  WHATEVER - I care about and pray for OUR SOLDIER’S fighting for our freedom and I HAVE NO SYMPATHY for AM _ MED> HMA< MEGA what the hell ever - who is apparently being indicted for helping minimize explosives nor do I have any feeling for any ANGUISH HE and HIS CO-HORT (S) suffer!  SHAME ON YOU - The only thing that would of made this article any more of a SLAP IN OUR FACES is if you’d held off PUBLISHING IT until 9/11 - UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!.

And this from an linked article at Jihad Watch:

“According to officials familiar with the case, Mohamed has been arrested previously in Egypt on terrorism-related charges. He is said to have produced an Internet video showing how to build a remote-controlled car bomb.”

Innocent until proven guilty, of course, and rightly held in custody at the same time. Pity the plight of the poor jihadist!

I’m so glad to see that many of my fellow responders are saying what I was thinking about this pair of students.  But, folks, you need to realize that the Tampa Tribune only reports who, what, where, when.  It is not expressing an editorial opinion when it reports on the families of the two students.  For its editorial opinion, you need to turn to the Editorial pages.  And, no, I don’t work for the Tribune.
Now for my two cents on the students:  Some days I’m almost ashamed to admit that I graduated from USF what with all the Islamic terrorist sympathizer allegations.  One thing I wish—that the guy from CAIR would learn to keep his mouth shut until all of the facts are in.  Every time someone of Islamic descent is even looked at suspiciously Bedir pops up and says we are discriminating against the “poor Islamics” Well, let’s face it folks:  It wasn’t blacks, American Indians, little old ladies in tennis shoes, whatever that brought down the Twin Towers.  It was radical Muslims, pure, plain and simple.  So we need to be looking at them—every one of them, no matter how long they have been in this country.  Also, why would two Muslim NON-American citizens be carrying fireworks anyway??  What were they celebrating??  Certainly not a late Fourth of July, when they aren’t even citizens.  These families SHOULD feel “anguished”.

This weekend, rather than our headlines screaming with outrage at the fact that many of our American Workers sit at home struggling to keep their heads above water, our headlines scream “Anything to get the Bush Administration out”.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans sit unemployed this weekend, causualties of a poor economy.  While more and more work is outsourced, and with immigration reform fast becoming the hottest topic for next year’s election, our headlines are again showing sympathy for terrorists in our country.

For once, I challenge the reporters out there to act without a personal agenda and report the facts as they are, not in the form of fiction.

Anyone who has tried to reach any major internet company can tell you outsourcing doesn’t work.  You have people who don’t speak a word of English dependant on translation devices to solve problems.  The result is an extremely demeaning customer service experience.

For hints on what today’s headline should read “Program developed to re-train builders as computer techs” ...or better yet..."US Borders Locked Down”.

Enough is enough, put your personal agendas aside and put on your big girl panties and get over it!  Try finding out who Team Gonzo is for an opportunity to acurately report the facts on weapons caches in Iraq.

I will never buy another copy of the Tampa Tribune.  I hope that my fellow Americans will join me.

Oh, sweet Egyptian youth wrongly accused at USF…

These unrepentant American pigs allowed you to embrace their land, break bread from their bounty and share their love for freedoms gift.

Yet, you spit in the eye of these patriots in the unholy name of Allah and the ugly ideology of Islam.

Muslim marauders with designs to miniaturize munitions and… No, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.

Perhaps next week, some bleeding heart will come to the defense of these terrorists, with prior arrest records and terrorist ties and we will find four students shot execution style here in a Florida school yard.

When are we going to wake up and stop these animals from entering this country.

I am a hard working person.  I do no wrong.

I broke into your house.  While I was there I washed the dishes and swept the floor.  By the way I folded the laundry too.  My husband mowed your lawn.

I stole your name so that I could falsify federal documents but I am a hard worker.

I lied about my age and where I was born so that you are now obligated to pay my medical expenses, provide me with housing and food stamps.  You must pay me a pension even though what I did was illegal and your system is being depleted so that millions of Americans who paid taxes and worked hard their entire lives can’t afford medication they desperately need.

You are also obligated to provide my children with an education and after care.  I will turn to the tax exempt organizations called churches for they will protect me even though I am a criminal who abandoned my child for the attention of the press.

I am a hard working person...I do no wrong.

That is the truth as to where we stand.  I witnessed the Trade Center come down on September 11, 2001.  My then 9 year old daughter watched as the second plane hit the towers her grandfather helped build as she looked out her classroom window.

Enough is enough - round them up and throw them out!

Okay...are we talking about the AUTHORITY - that issued a student visa to a known terrorist here?

The government needs to run the same way Corporate America runs.  Accountability!  Fire the immigration department heads, replace the staff with the workers who have lost jobs this year due to the decline in the housing market after training.  Clean house the way any company would when screw up after screw up of huge proportion happens.

We have seen illegals take over our country.  Years ago, when a family came from Germany or Italy or Spain, the children went to school learned the language and went home to teach the adults in the house.  Now, thanks to the Clinton Administration, we have to have teachers that speak the languages of other countries and teach in a child’s native language.  My great grandfather refused to learn english, so my grandmother refused to speak Italian.  The feud was hilarious, but no one dared to disagree with my grandmother.

Our streets are taken over by criminals, and they are criminals just in the fact that they have broken the law to get here.  Never mind the hundreds upon thousands of falsely obtained government documents and the billions in aid we spend supporting them.

In Staten Island, New York a house wife was beaten and raped over and over again by an illegal picked up off a street corner by a gardening company.  His statement when they grabbed him - “They’ll deport me and I’ll be back”.

If a group of illegals can take over our streets in protest because they broke the law and feel they aren’t being given a fair shake here in our great country - than so can we.  We were born here, our parents and grandparents naturalized citizens.

The fact is these “victims” were outside a naval base with explosives.  There is solid evidence that they promoted terrorism in OUR country.

The reporters are perpetuating a horrible situation by offering sympathy to those who don’t deserve an ounce, due to a lack of desire to see another election won by the Republican Party.

They are not covering the right issues...Issues of Accountability, and a total closure of our borders.

SH: He was a known terrorist when the visa was issued?
