Even though I’m a FSU fan, I agree with beerjockey99 that we should go after C4, who looks potentially as good or better than Mewelde Moore & the others being mentioned, with no compensation requirement!

well i have a few ideas 1 how about eddie george?? hes been no where and fell of the face of the earth. I know hes kinda old but trading a pick for ANY vikings rRB is a waste. I personally don think moore or taylor are any good. How about trading for warrick dunn and get him back???? They obviuosly have their RB of the future in norwood or get michael turner. Tikit would be a great fit and a great story but i just dont see it happeneing. since he retired if he would decide too comeback and play I think the giants would do to him what the lions did to barry

How quickly everyone seems to have forgotten that Jon Gruden and Bruce Allen are in the “win now or else” mode.

Don’t be surprised if they trade for the best back they can get, even if it takes a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick, as well as bring in C4 and any other potential free agents out there because they need at least 2 more backs in the short term.

Don’t forget that not only is Cadillac and Pitt out, but so is Mike Alstott.

And who is to say Pittman comes back in 6-8 weeks and is able to play at the same level he has been at for the last several years.

This is a crisis situation and expect Brucie to pull out all the stops to try and save the season and thus their jobs.

Besides, Cadillac has proven he cannot stand up to the rigors of the NFL and unfortunately, his best days may already be behind him.

This injury may actually be what seals Caddy’s fate. I hate to say it because I always wished Caddy would make the Hall as a Buc, but I feel we are going to find ourselves a SOLID, premier running back, who will more than fill Caddy’s shoes. Much in the way Simms was pushed out of his ‘star of the future’ spot, someone is going to come in and knock Caddy off the pedestal. And as a TRUE Bucs fan, I have to admit-that’s football. Caddy, I like you dawg, but we need to win. (Shrug)

keep eye on michael turner, peirst holmes, or even clinton portis. I see holmes is the likley chose because they need a Quaterback and Sims is not doing anything but use up cap space.

Corey Dillion? Ricky Williams? There are a few backs out there that might be good for a year or two? What would the Giants want as compensation for Tiki? How long would it take him to get in shape. In order to make a run for the playoffs, we are going to need a running game. Unfortunately this is not August..........so Graham or Darby haven’t shown us anything yet! Hey, I hear OJ is in need of some money!

i agree with coffester and most of the previous posts.  up until pitman’s injury, we should have stayed pat.  now with pitman’s injury, we desperately need rb help.

what would i be willing to give up?  3rd rnd pick or lower, and sims/plummer/gradkowski.  our draft picks this year showed me we can get good value from the first day.  there are a couple of rbs that we could have a shot at later in the first (slaton immediately comes to mind).  so we definately need our rnd 1 and 2 picks.  i’d like to hold onto the 3rd rnd but if the right deal comes along we should be willing to give it up.

how should we be looking at?  i agree with holmes, especially with the lack of starting qb in kansas city.  we should be willing to give up a 4th for moore.  fason should get a look b/c he wouldn’t cost as much.  i’m not big on trading for williams b/c IF he gets reinstated we could pick him up off waivers for nada.  what about those taylor/mckinnie?  how about a 3 or 4 and sims/qb?  hadn’t thought much about portis, but would he be worth a 3rd and sims/qb?  i say yes!  if we’re gonna give something up, why not make sure we get proven talent in return?!

finally, i want to say the Bucs will make the playoffs, even if we don’t make a major rb addition!  with Delhomme’s injury and the non-start by the Saints, our only competition is the Falcons, who also have major questions at qb!  my point is that if we make a trade, we could instantly become major competitor in the NFC playoffs.  Other then the Cowboys, there isn’t a close to dominant team.  we need to make a move b/c the playoffs will be WIDE OPEN until the conference championship.  if ever there was a time for Gruden/Allen to make a move, it is NOW!

Be serious, the Bucs will make the playoffs with only Graham and Darby?  I love the Bucs but I have a difficult time believing that.  The lack of speed showed against one of the worst run defenses in the NFL.  Who saw that the Bucs had anything at running back after Pittman was gone?

I think with their backs against the wall Gruden/Allen will have to trade for someone, anyone, or pick up a free agent that shows promise (are there really any out there)?  I think the team is between a rock and hard place - don’t want to give up a high draft pick, but at the same time, need to win this year while looking toward the future.  That is what the boss (Glazer) wants.  This is going to show us how “smart” Allen/Gruden really are - who they pick up to make this season work.  This is where Allen in particular earns his pay, salary cap genius and all.

yes the Bucs can make the playoffs with Darby and Graham b/c we have a QB.  Tell me, would you rather have Carr/Foster, Harrington/Dunn, or Garcia/Graham.  It won’t be pretty, but we would get it done.
