Hmmm Randy says he will not comply with the senator’s request and plans to contact the other 5 ministries and request that they also not comply. Oh my… way to open up a full IRS investigation!
You shouldn’t go around making stuff up. That wasn’t in the article.
Are you randy? how do you know I made this up?
Because I didn’t read that in the article. Unless, you are Joyce Meyer, Copeland, Dollar, Hinn, or Eddie Long and you’re claiming he talked to you personally! LOL!!!

I didn’t say it was in the article… remember, I told you I know more about what goes on in your church than you do! You are the naive fleeced sheep, Lydia… not me!

The article I read (St. Pete Times) stated that leaders at Without Walls are “considering” giving detailed information to Senator Grassley. I have not read or heard anything about a refusal to comply.
Still, by “considering” giving information that would give anyone ample time to cook the books but that’s a different matter.
Naive? Possibly. Fleeced? Never. Anyway, I guess time will tell if you’re telling the truth. Anyone can come on here and say whatever they want and not have to worry about verifying it. Let me try....Angelina Jolie has a stegosaurus she keeps hidden in area 51, which she uses alien technology to cloak it from our satellites. Now, prove I’m lying.

yes, churches are just a money making sceme and should have open books same as any other business.
Dave
Agreed. If ministries they want to keep their 501c3 non-profit status they should be able to, at any time, prove to the government that they truly are a non-profit organization. This is not a seperation of church and state issue. If other non-profit organizations like the Red Cross and United Way has had to do it, so should any church organization that claims to be non-profit.
I don’t think ministries as a whole have anything to be concerned about. If their congregation wants to give Randy and Paula, Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyers, Creflo Dollar, ect.... millions of dollars a year so they can have their treasure on earth, so be it. However, they need to pay taxes on it just like every other multi-millionaire.

They can’t cook the books and they can’t comply! To comply would seal their unfavorable fate.
In having a say so in how the money is used, I meant that as an active member of my church I can see how my donations are used. If I don’t take the tax deduction, the government keeps the money and spends it on many things that are fruitless. At least this way I can see how the donations are helping.
Most Churches keep their congregations informed as to how the money they collect is being spent. Most of them have financial statements available to anyone who wants to pick it up. The ministers don’t handle the money. It is done by a committee of members.
Some of the Mega-Churches aren’t so forthcoming with how much they collect or how they spend it. If they provided this information to their members, Senator Grassley wouldn’t have to ask for it.

True. Problem is if you read the articles of the corporations I posted months ago. The ones of the money machine you are talking about. Randy has clauses in there that he does not have to open the books. If you really look at the documents you will see that there are five members on the board. One of them is their power of attorney. That means they win every vote for their income. Their blotched audit they posted does not disclose their salary. Amongst about one hundred things I can prove and verify. Not to mention the string of corporations that are shell that lead to off shore accounts. Did I tell you their layered corporation has two for profits above their non profit to shuffle money through?

I understand that this is one of the churches that is not providing open disclosure and have hand picked people covering up for them. What I don’t understand is why people throw money at someone who doesn’t provide open disclosure. Why do people fall for these con-men?

They have charisma and are masters at making you feel guilty. IE. they do not pass the plate they have the people come up front to tithe. This makes people feel oligated because they do not want people to know they are not tithers. They also use manipulation to get them to do it. I posted a thread months ago on how they do it. I can repost it if you are new here.
Tax! Tax! Tax! That is all you need to eliminate these money sucking scheisters from our community! If they have to pay real estae and income and capital gains taxes like everyone else, there will be a Hell of a lot less mega churches ripping off the feeble minded flocks of “worshipers”. I have no doubts that the intentions of the worshipers are 100% honest but I doubt the “ministers” could give a rats pitootie to whom they are shouting their songs of praise!

I can see how this might work one time but why would anybody go back? At some point people have to wake up and take responsibility for their gullibility. They have to open their eyes and see the hucksters that they are financing!

True and most are hurting. They are not stable and some are at their ropes end. They turn to God as a last source. They have tried everything else. Sow a seed to get breakthrough sounds great. They then give their time to these hucksters by volunteering. MPIP sounds good I want to preach like Paula and Randy! These hucksters get them hook, line and sinker! Sounds weird but it is true.

You know Think, the sad thing is that unless you’ve been in a position like this before it’s just hard to explain how these people use tactics that keep you there. If you study cult tactics and these churches like this, you will see similarities, which just blows your mind when you are attending one of them. It’s a wild thing, but it is such a “freeing” feeling once you make the break and get away from it. when you look back you wonder the exact same thing that you are asking, but now you see how it happens. You get angry, sad, many emotions because of the hold they have had on you...it’s weird. But, unfortunately when people are deep in it, they just can’t see it, cuz it’s all in the name of God and it’s so hard to separate man from God at that point.
