For every one out there who says there is no way the Lightning will do anything to shake up the time while they are working on selling the team is full of crap.  It is just another way to justify the Lightning not taking accountability for a horrible Personnel Department and a head coach who has lost his team.

To prove this theory just take a look at MLB and the Chicago Cubs.  It has been known the Tribune Co. has been wanting to sell the team for a couple years now but that has absolutely not deterred the team from shelling out big money to bring in free agents and a new manager and doing whatever it takes to win.

Make the changes that are necessary.  GM, Coach, and some new players and stop making excuses as to why they will not!

Gimme a Break: there’s no comparison between the Cubs & the Bolts..
Davidson is a little ink dot compared to the Cubs ownership.. from ‘25 to ‘77 the Wrigleys owned the team.. in ‘77 they sold the team to the Chicago Tribune which is now a huge multimedia corporation.. Sam Zell just (12.20.07) bought The Tribune and plans to unload the team.. probably to Mark Cuban or Jerry Coangelo.. my theory has always been that Feaster’s & Tortorella’s jobs are safe until after the sale.. and prior to that Feaster’s hands are tied (or at least limited) to what he can do payroll-wise and otherwise.. and I guarantee you that the Big 4 are off limits to any trades because they’re the main selling points to the team (at this time).

It’s not a matter of making excuses.. I wish they would make wholesale changes but I think I know why they’re not.

The problem is not Torts or the “big 4” or the goaltending. I think for the most part Homer played well. The problem is the blue line. when Ranger was playing well early we were winning, but he is young and will be a star someday just not today. They need to get a veteren blueliner to bring the “kids” together until Boyle gets back to full strenth--if he ever does.
I say they shop some of their 3rd-4th line forwards for a veteren defenceman. I bet Gratton would bring some attention!
