The way this season has gone (along with our expectations) I’ve got to say I’m EXCITED AS HELL that the Bucs are going to be here ‘celebrating’ a tough season. I went to a lot of games and this crowd is going to make a HUGE difference in that game. Also, we keep out of their cold, windy stadium. I think the Bucs have a legit shot at roughing up Eli Manning, Rudd and Co. stopping the run, and believe it or not EARNEST GRAHAM having a great day. I can see it all now...how bout you guys?

Eli Manning’s potential for key turnovers could be the difference here as otherwise the Giants have a modest leg up on Bucs in rushing game, on defense and in kicking game.

Living in the NY area I suffer with the Giants and Jets every week exccept I go to Directv and watch the Bucs instead.  Giants are a very streaky team, and Eli Manning is as much as problem as he is a help to the team.  If he is under pressure, he makes key mistakes - namely interceptions.  If the front four wreck havoc then the Bucs can win this game.  If not, and have to resort to blitzes then the Giants may have a field day on the Bucs secondary.  I am hoping for the former, not the latter of course.

Eli IS streaky. He’s used his good game this week vs the Pats and you saw him fall apart late in the game with more pressure on him. He can’t go 4 quarters or back to back games with great success(trust me, he was my fantasy qb this year, OOPS!) What the Giants will do is pound Brandon jacobs down our throat. And lob jumpballs to Plaxico. We are undersized at corner and LB too.  Our O line will have their hands full with this giants d. Expect Monte and Brooks to push a “ DEFENSE WINS THIS GAME” mind set, because this will be a defensive game : Sacks, Ints, Fumbles, and Field Position.

Unlike a lot of people I have no problem with you coming on here to talk trash, but I have one request.  When/if the Bucs win we don’t want you to disappear on us like the other trash talkers did.  If your G-men lose make sure you do one last post and eat that crow.  If you’re man enough to agree to those terms then talk away.

On another note I would agree the Bucs are in trouble if the game was for three quarters.  I am completely confident that is some how our defense doesn’t hold and our offense doesn’t score we can alway count on one of Eli’s signature fourth quarters to help us pull out the victory.

“God” may be a little strong.  I can’t speak for everyone, but I say “it’s a deal”.  On another note… you do know the Giants lost to New England last night, right?

The Giants haven’t faced a team with a Defense as intense as the Buccaneers yet. Sunday, I believe will be fun, if the Bucs bring their swagger…

Wow, the NY media is having a field day here today in NYC.  Quotes on ESPN NY such as, “Good thing the Giants are facing the Bucs, if is is not a blowout with the Giants winning then Cochran (the coach) should be fired!” Or try, “The NFC South is a joke, the Bucs are paper champions, and the Giants are just the team to prove it!” Or on another sports radio station, “Good thing the Giants are playing the Bucs, it is probably the only sure win the team has in the postseason!”

As you can imagine, all the talk radio stations are loving the Bucs and thinking the Giants will just roll over them.  It does not surpise me a Giants fan comes on the boards here and says the same thing - it is what every NFL NYer football fan thinks - a Giants blowout and if not, fire the coach.  The Bucs have the reputation for being a terrible football team since they only beat two teams with a winning record this year (Washington and Tennessee, and did not both make the playoffs?) However, I would like to remind the Giants fans that they did not do any better, beating only ONE team with a winning record, and it was not Dallas who swept them (I think it was also Washington).

In my mind, the game is a tossup as the two teams play stout defense and have their problems on offense.  Neither team should be a huge threat if they win to the Packers or Cowboys unless some things go there way in week two of the playoffs.  More realistically, these teams are fairly evenly matched and it comes down to the pressure on Eli Manning and stopping the run.  And oh yes, the Bucs offensive line containing the Blitzing Giants cornerbacks as their defense lives and dies on the blitz.

Of any NFL teams, I probably follow the most the Bucs, Giants, and Jets due to where I live.  If anyone is to bet on this game, you are either betting on the front four getting to Eli Manning, or the Blitzing Giants to destroy the Bucs offense.  I take the Bucs defense any day, but the Giants blitzers do give me concern.

SH: Turnovers are the Bucs only hope....I’d be surprised if they got more than two sacks.

Leaning hard away from my earlier post in this thread and may drop a bet on NYG moneyline (+125)

SH: holy cow…

Giants faced New England, Philly (twice) and Green Bay - all top10 defenses who played more difficult schedules than did the Bucs defense.
