Hey, folks, this is Matt Neistein. I sit on the Trib’s editorial board, and we’re setting up a thread for each candidate as we release our endorsements for the state primary.

I agree. I would really be surprised if Hillary is the nominee. America needs change, and not another Bush or Clinton for a while. America could elect a woman, but not this one. She is too polarizing, and we’ve had enough of that.

I have to tell most that this Lady has seen Politics inside and out. I am going to vote for her because I feel that she would know how to straighten this mess out and push for children when we have given all the men in charge a chance to do what is right. We need to let Hillary Clinton go into the White House and move us forward and move out this Only men know whats best.

I for one am sick of this Republican group or people who think that they can do it and not have been where she has. I am sorry but I have voted both ways and I am sick of seeing the slick snake oil salesman and I believe since she was there when this country was good and when Alan Greenspan even said that Bill Clinton ran this country best. In my book Hillary was there and knows how to bring it back on the right track.

I will never vote Republican again and I will give my vote to Hillary because she has the most political experience and will look out for the family due to her trying to get bills for Health Insurance and bills for Children.

I too have come full circle on the Bush family & the Clintons.  There are pros & cons to both; but in the end I am liking the Clintons.  I feel that together they make a great team & have intelligence, experience, and vision to lead the country.  They paid down the deficit when we were told that it would be generations before it would be paid off.  They also care about the environment.  Let Obama gain more experience & get it next time around.  He is too green right now for my taste.  I can’t believe everyone is jumping on this pie in the sky change bandwagon.  Are you all 17 years old & is this your first presidential election?  Every candidate says that & it never happens.  Look beyond that for substance.  I also like John Edwards a lot.  I wish he would be the veep.  Or Bill Richardson.

Not sure when having political experience became a liability in this country.  The Clinton years were the best that this country has seen for many years - yes we all got distracted by the silly scandals but we were respected by the rest of the world and the economy was good.

We’ve seen what inexperience can bring - Bush had none - and look where that has lead to....no thanks.

Each of the candidates offers some good ideas, I’m just afraid of the inexperience and the pie in the sky we’re going to “change the world”.

I’m going with Sen. Clinton.  I like experience.  On the job training is for the workplace and not for running this country!

Why is there such a deafening silence from most candidates
on the urgent issue of illegal aliens?  There is no Hispanic
vote because only Americans are allowed to vote here, and
they became Americans by speaking English.  Secure our
borders!

What are all the URGENT ISSUES that these candidates are facing?

Immigration, Health care, Iraqi War, Oil Prices, and Yeah The ECONOMY. This a small list of the Urgent Issues right now.

It looks like the Economy is imploding right now. Seems to be the BIGGEST ISSUE.

Should we build a fence or not who knows if any of us will have a job tommorow let alone in the coming months. We might not have enough money for the fence but maybe they will stay for the free ride or go back to live with a low paying job.  Our economy may take their jobs away from them. A United States citizen may need that job to survive.

Make no mistake - this is a Corporate America-Republican recession which can be blamed 100% on George W. Bush.  I’m against any type of rescue by the Democrats - they need to let the people suffer and make Bush take the blame for it.

This recession is due to income inequality - made possible by the guargantuan tax cuts for the top 1% which has caused the defecit, the borrowing, and the explosion of prices while at the same time keeping workers wages flat.  There’s also this war which costs plenty and has done nothing but make Cheney and Hallliburton very rich.  The war surely hasn’t helped the gas prices.

Now they are announcing you will be getting a separate credit score in order to get health care.  Another great Republican idea.

Hillary knows this - she feels it - she sees it.  She’s got my vote.

This “recession” reminds me of the last year of Clinton’s second term when the stock market bit the dust. I suppose history repeats itself.

I really hope that Monica’s ex boyfriend’s wife gets the nomination. It will make for an interesting year.

The election season is just getting started, and already the recount
in New Hamphire, where they DO have paper ballots, has exposed
missing memory cards and other machine related breakdowns. As if we
did not have enough proof already, we simply cannot trust our sacred
right to vote in this critical upcoming election to secret
proprietary machines owned by radically partisan private
corporations.

Hockeyray-What is the answer though?  Since 2000, no one trusts paper, machines or the people who count them anymore.
