Well, we now know larry has no evidence to support his position and can only call it garbage. He talks about “most Americans” but has no reference to that statement either.

I base my opinions on facts. By learning about Stanton’s situation I got the facts and can understand the situation much better and can agree with the Mayor that staying in his job is the best solution to the situation.

He should look at some of the latest polls of Americans aged 18-49—they by and large accept gay people, and the trend is continuing in that direction. I’m not sure why he said “remember who is in presidential office, and why”. Apparently he thinks Bush is some profoundly great leader who came to office by ‘speaking truth to power’ or something. In reality, Bush is a mediocrity and typical politician. But i digress. You know, if there’s this “majority” that agrees with Larry, then he has nothing to worry about. Sounds like he’s worried.

Congratulations Mr/s Stanton on your forced decision to begin your transition period. I’m sorry if you were placed in that position before you were really prepared as far as your family and young Son are concerned, but perhaps it will all work out for the best, I certainly hope so. Good Luck.

It is all fine and dandy that some of the rather dimwitted have taken the initiative to register with us just so they could “enlighten” us with their scholarly drivel, all the while managing to express little more than rank prejudice and ignorance. Totally dismissing fourteen years of dedication and loyalty over a simple change in the dress code is preposterous and if nothing else, it demonstrates poor business sense.  Poor Larry in his post above, demonstrates a level of frustration found by a certain portion of the community. ....if i had a business i couldn’t fire someone for this......but i would find a different reason........thats for sure.....I don’t understand, is it hatred or fear? Pure and simple Homophobiasnake

larry, i’m curious. Why are you afraid of homosexuals and transgendered people? It is certainly your “right and want”. You say “keep them away from me”. What are they going to do to you? What if your boss was gay? Would you up and quick? That wouldn’t make sense to most people. Of course, you don’t have to explain yourself to anyone, least of all someone posting anonymously on the internet.

I wouldn’t even want a straight person looking at my crotch—or at all—when I go to the bathroom. Actually, by the words you’ve written in several posts, it sounds to me like you don’t respect them at all. But, as you say, that’s how you want to live your life. I hope your children don’t hold those views, because they will have to interact, probably more and more, with these people.

You people say you don’t want them around you. They are desensitizing my children. What do you think back in the 60’s they were saying about black people. Come on already. Give up your bigotry.

No, larry, when you call them freaks and post like you just did there is no respect there at all.  I feel sorry for your children. It’s just as likely that yours could eventually reveal to you that they are gay or transgendered and you’d not be able to support them when they would need you most. Matter of fact, your attitude could result in them harming themselves because they thought they failed you when they were only being themselves.

What’s wrong with Larry’s veiws? He’s definitly entitled to them, and his veiws are by far not racist. That’s rediculous, the most rediculous things I’ve read.

This is not a hate issue but a sensablity issue. Who made people gay and wanting to be transgendered? God? Mother Nature? Cause the bible surely speaks against it.. As a matter of fact, how many gay christians are there? How many out there attending church services on Sundays and during the week? If you’re gay and want to say you do, let me go ahead and call you a liar. And if you want to know why I call you a liar, then pick a bible and read it. Only then will you understand.

And what about mother nature?? Evolution is the evolvement of a species. A species would fail to evolve if the male and females only had sex with their same gender. Where do gay people fall into the evolutionary scale? they don’t!!!

So Larry is just speaking truthfully from the heart and not sugar coating his ideas. A lot of people think that way.. I personally am not scared of gay people in the bathroom, but I don’t want them babysitting my boys. It’s not a hate issue, but a natural fear.

I have a son, a who was always a normal boy, that is he naturally chose classic male toys and clothes and interests. He always was a wondeful son.

he did not have the benefit of a father, and when he was 17 he began to have a crisis in his life. I tried everything i could to help him and reach him but at that age sometimes kids do not want to hear parents.

Through the internet, the public school and some kids with very different values and morals, his girlfriend and a transexual began to coach him in how to dress as a woman and encouraged and convinced him he is a woman. He turned 18 and without Any therapy at all the doctor wrote him rx for female hormones, and a note that had a judge legally change his name and GENDER! no medical basis, no inquiry into his history, no questions asked. They even waived the court fees.

he is living as a woman, sleeping in the female dorm where he lives now....legally.
He has worked hard and is doing very well in his job. I am not sure anyone knows. For awhile he did tell everyone, so there was no deception. But he does not act like the same person i have known every single day of his life.

i feel like he is in danger, of waking up someday and realizing what he has done and being at risk for suicide. I feel this never would have happened in our society 20 years ago.

now when people like this man in public office are blatantly doing this, it is just one more precedent to pave the way for this to be accepted as a norm in our society.

I think the man knows this and if he is fired, there will be all kinds of lawyers who want to make a big deal out of this and challenge it all in the courts. a real trans rights platform.

I know firsthand what a terrible thing this really is.  We are christians, and of course the influence on my son came from non christians.

First of all, the one I feel for is his son.  I cannot imagine the ridicule that this poor child must go through in school.  This man has no feelings and he is very selfish.  He can have all the gender changing surgery that he wants, he will ALWAYS BE A MALE!  THAT IS HOW IS HE WAS FORMED IN THE WOMB, THAT’S HOW HE WAS BORN AND THAT IS HOW HE angry WILL DIE.

As a Christian, I go back to WWJD: what would Jesus do? Do you think he’d shun the person? No. This person is still God’s creation. Maybe this “affliction” is this person’s “cross to bear”. “Love the sinner, but hate the sin”. What does that mean, exactly? How do you put that thought into practice?

Maybe someone here can help me: did Jesus ever speak out condemning homosexuality? I can’t recall anything in the New Testament. And if he did, did He prescribe a remedy or punishment?
