Frequently Asked Questions:
Why is KID ID a must for any parent? The most crucial time to locate a child is in the first 3 hours of his or her being reported missing. Data will only be forwarded to law enforcement with parental permission. The information is digital and can be disseminated in just minutes to the proper authorities. KID ID provides the child’s most complete information including photograph, fingerprints, birth marks, moles, scars, etc. Your child’s identification card stays with you at all times either in a wallet or purse to provide peace of mind.
How do I have my child’s information updated? The Center for Missing and Exploited Children recommends you to update your child’s picture, fingerprints and pertinent data every year. Even if you attended last year, please attend this year to update your child’s information.
Who will have access to my child’s information? Once your child’s information is entered into the computer, it is kept in KIDID’s secure database. The information will only be released to law enforcement if and when you authorize it.
