Who is going to win the Stanley Cup?

Well you can look at the top Point getters in the NHL.

But I say look to the “OLD” traditional NHL powers and the part of the world they play in.

2004 Tampa Bay (Southeast Division Champions)
2006 Carolina Hurricanes (Southeast Champions)
2007 (Southeast Division Champions) Atlanta Thrashers!!

So your 2007 Stanley Cup Champions will be

ATLANTA THRASHERS

IF we had consistent goaltending, I would say TB would stomp everyone. This year I’m going with Buffalo. Their unstopable.

Pittsburgh has a good chance too, even though they got a bunch of young guns.

GO BOLTS!!!!

Would could have a rematch of the Wings and Devils ‘95 final. Let’s hope the Wings hang around for more than 4 games this time.

If it happens it will be a very low scoring series.

Well I guess my prediction of the Thrashers was just a little bit off!
Maybe this is the year of the Sabres!

Red Wings dominated Calgary. Still think Buffalo is the toughest team. But Anaheim is looking pretty strong too. It’s somewhat up in the air.

Keep your money on Buffalo.

When Ottawa won the Eastern finals, Alfredson may have made one of the biggest misjudgements of his career. He touched the championship trophy, when it was awarded to his team. He touched it with 1 finger, but he touched none the less. Most hockey players are very superstitious, and one of best known is that no one from the winning team touches the Conference trophy. You can bet that every player on his team either saw or knows that he touched that trophy. Superstitions can undermine and eat away at confidence and focus, like a cancer. After he touched that trophy, I said to wife, that “if Ottawa loses the first game of the CUP finals, they’re done”. In game 1, Ottawa didn’t play like they had in the three previous playoff series; and in game 2 it was even more obvious. Ottawa has had two 5 on 3’s, and didn’t score; and all of the bounces have gone the Duck’s way in the first 2 games. I give the Ducks all the credit they deserve, as they have played some great hockey; but for Ottawa the impact of a long standing superstition appears to be haunting them.

Ya I was watching the game last night with a buddy of mine and he said he noticed that too. Ottawa is damn’d. They are never going to win the Cup. It’s sad for them but I could also care less, I hate them. Go Ducks.
