Yea, Alfredsson lost it when he shot that puck at Niedermayer; but I think that goes back to his lack of judgement in touching the confernce trophy. All of his teammates know it to, as well as many Ottawa fans, from what my Canadian friends tell me. He acted like a spoiled brat, who wasn’t getting his way. Superstition can eat away at a teams confidence, and I think that it has affected Ottawa. When things start to go wrong, or the bounces don’t go your way, it undermines your play mentally. There is also the fact that Ottawa has been one of the top 2 teams in the eastern division for years, but are considered to be underachievers that fold when things get tuff and don’t o their way. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving team. O’Neil is the current Kenny ("the Rat") Lindsman of the NHL; and I don’t think Lindsman has his name on the CUP. It will be interesting to see how free-agency impacts Ottawa over the summer, as in rats abandoning the ship.
